Plankton
For this project, I converted materials from an old Mental Ray file, then re-lit, rendered, and composited using VRay and After Effects. The shot is from the 2015 game Spongebob Heropants.

The Lighthouse Mouse
This was a Christmas ad for the Minnesota Lottery, partnering with a Minnesota landmark, the Split Rock Lighthouse. My team did a shoot at the lighthouse to get the live action footage, and then we integrated the CG mouse after filming. I worked with another lighting artist on this project. I was responsible for lighting, rendering, and compositing about half the shots.

Toro Comfort Ride Seat
For this Toro ad, I was the primary lighting and compositing artist, and I created the shaders/materials for the mower seat. The company did a live-action shoot with the mower, and then my team faded in a matching 3D model to show working close-ups of certain features.

Orange Balloon
I did one part of three color-field fruit studies, meant to go together on the studio's Instagram page. The orange model and texture maps were scanned, but everything else was created by me. For the most part, this was a lighting, compositing, and materials study. That being said, the main time-consuming hurdle on this project was the challenge of transforming the actual geometry of the orange into a balloon. It is not a cross-fade done in post, but a legitimate transformation happening in Maya. This took a while to work out, since the geometry of the scanned orange was so dense and difficult to work with.

Still Life: Fruit Bowl
One of the lighting challenges from http://3drender.com/challenges/index.htm. Modeled by Dan Wade, this still life scene is meant to be used for basic lighting and texture practice. I used this project to learn about barndoor and gobo effects in Maya spotlights.
